About
I have enjoyed design and architecture as long as I can remember. And also working with my hands. Before helicopter parents, there were tree forts - a hammer, some nails, some acquired lumber, some buddies, and before you knew it you had a terrace above the din. Other entertainment included disassembling small appliances, "repairing" bicycles and drawing. Even before studying design in college, I enjoyed perusing magazines such as Architectural Record and Architecture Plus. Skipping ahead, through a few years and detours, to the 1990s, I got into the wholesale lighting business with a company called Architects and Heroes Interiors, started by Marc Elson and Palmer Earley. This taught me a lot about the lighting business and allowed me to travel overseas to fascinating places in search of fabricators, materials and ideas. After we sold that company, I began to focus more on designing and building one of a kind lighting to sell locally at venues such as the Round Top antique show, as well as custom work for interior designers, architects and home owners. It has been a rewarding and enjoyable endeavor. I look forward to new design opportunities to come.
